Without giving any spoilers away, this book gave me so many emotions. She was my favourite character, and I loved how she was allowed to learn to fight, especially in such man’s world. Gemma is so strong, she was a strong-willed, beautiful woman who knew what she wanted and went for it, but stood by her beliefs and refused to be walked all over by Savio. He redeemed himself in my eyes in the second half of the book, and when he opens up to Gemma, you get a true understanding of what Savio is like underneath his hard shell.

However, when everything is threatened, he realises he must step up and take care of Gemma and that he could really love her. Savio was such a charmer, he knew exactly what to say in any situation but he was an idiot for the first half of this book, I wanted to slap him. But, this doesn’t mean he’s ready to commit to her and a whole lot of drama occurs once Gemma is officially promised to Savio. However, when someone else shows interest, Savio’s jealousy comes to light and he decides he does want Gemma for himself and he will prove to the whole of the Camorra that she belongs to him. Savio is a known bachelor, never wanting to trade in his freedom for a ball and chain, so the likelihood of him asking for Gemma’s hand is slim to none. Gemma has always had a crush on Savio, which he has always teased her about but never pursued because as she comes from a strict traditionalist family, he must marry her before he even so much as kisses her. Savio and Gemma have known each other for years, Savio being the third Falcone brother of the Camorra and Gemma’s older brother, Diego’s, best friend. Savio and Gemma are hot! Everything I love about mafia romances is in Twisted Hearts, drama, angst and a whole lot of chemistry.

I have been eagerly anticipating Twisted Hearts and Savio’s story as you see glimpses of his character in the first novels. So when I found out she had written a spin-off series, I powered through the first three books in a week when I had Kindle Unlimited. I think Cora is one, if not the best at writing a hot alpha mafia hero and a strong willed, beautiful mafia heroine. Her writing was amazing, really making you invested in the couple, the relationship and the mafia world. I first discovered Cora Reilly a couple of years ago when I read her Born in Blood Mafia series, which had me hooked.
